Well, after all of my bitching and moaning about being stir crazy, I actually had a fantastic weekend. It was exactly what I needed. I could also be so happy because I had two of my top five best breakfasts ever (though maybe it's just been too long since I've gone out for breakfast).
Saturday, I went back to the Beehive Cafe in Bristol, and got eggs over easy with sweet potato hash (sweet potatoes, carmelized onions, and gouda cheese). Then I went snowshoeing in the gorgeous Arcadia Forest with my friends Jen and Andy. The park was huge and snowy and beautiful. When we stopped to take breaks, it was so silent that my ears rang a little.
Jeff had Sunday off and we took one of our mini-road trips where we just drive around and see what kind of trouble we can get into. We started the day at one of my favorite breakfast places, The Barn in Adamsville RI. I had one of their specials; eggs benedict over jalepeno cornbread (?!) It was incredible - savory, spicy, and sweet at the same time. I hope they make it part of their regular menu. Afterwards we drove to Marion, MA and happened upon an empty, open snowy field where a massacre of stuffed animals had taken place. Upon closer inspection we realized it was a dog park.
We drove further towards the Cape to Buzzards Bay where we took another little walk at Lyman Reserve, it was beautiful and I can't wait to go back and explore more of the trails.
